UW-MADISON CONTRA DANCERS

Contra Dancing is fun and great exercise!

Contra dancing has been called "the most fun you can have with your clothes on." No experience is necessary, because the caller teaches each dance. Come with or without a partner, and we trade partners for each dance.

Still not sure what contra dancing is? Take a look at this recent news coverage: News Link

You may find it helpful to bring slippery comfortable shoes and a water bottle.

The Hackberries are a group of grad students and community members who gather weekly to play Celtic music, often on Thursday or Friday nights. We welcome musicians to join us on any instrument and have had musicians who've played fiddle, guitar, cello, string bass, tin whistle, Irish flute, piano, accordion, hand drums, Irish bones, harp, and mandolin. No experience with Celtic music is necessary if you're eager to learn. For more information, please contact us through the "Contact" form on this website.
